Conference conclusions and report now available

Approximately 300 people attended the 3rd UNCCD Scientific Conference from 9 to 12 March 2015 in Cancun. Half of the participants were researchers from scientific institutions, while the other half was composed of government officials and representatives of civil society, intergovernmental and UN organizations.

The scientific conference format of the UNCCD is indeed a unique process among the multilateral environmental agreements in combining a scientific conference with a meeting of policymakers. Rich presentations and discussions were held throughout the four days of the conference, during both official proceedings and side-events. The IISD conference report and the conference conclusions are now available for download.
